easily done
search for l200 manual hubs on ebay and take your pick
process is to remove the auto hub and install the manual hub
That's a good video above. Follow that.
From research I did into this, when I was considering doing the same thing (didn't do it), these seem to be a good option. There are cheaper ones out there too, but these are the better one from what I recall- all metal, no plastic parts.
Amazon says they are not a match for the our trucks but I remember reading in a few places that they are a match. maybe someone else can confirm.
By the way, I think the price is for one hub, not a set.

Thank all of you guys for the great info and feed back!! Definitely will by giving this a try and posting some pictures!
Old thread that brings up some new questions.
I just got an 87 4X4 truck and it has auto hubs, they have a chrome cap with the words “AUTO FREE HUB.” Are these the stock units? Are they reliable or should I be switching to manual hubs?
Also I’m curious, do these auto hubs ever fail to disengage, causing excess drag and powertrain wear when driving in 2WD?

DO THIS: https://youtube.com/shorts/sYZywHLOi...HUbEIdRtO0cHTg
Reverse the truck a few feet & the hubs automatically disengage they have 100% of the time for me.
When I replaced the front wheel bearings I was afraid to disassemble the auto hub assy I just brushed em in parts cleaning tank blow dry compressed air hand forced new bearing grease into them WORKED GOOD FOR ME
I don't like having to jump in & out to drive the truck and thats also why I got hyd lifter valve train on the new cyl head we installed I don't like having to adjust valves either

Daily Overhauls Do Get Expensive
The hub in your picture is the stock unit. I vaguely recall one post of a member having problems with the same hubs on a Montero, but couldn't find it nor any other posts about auto-hub problems. They should work fine as long as they aren't gummed up with contaminated or dried out lubricant. They aren't difficult to disassemble and clean, but a press to compress the internal springs and allow removal of a retainer ring is recommended. Only requires about 30# pressure, but the springs need a 40mm stroke to relax fully.
The manuals section has a detailed info on servicing the hubs which are the same for 83-94 years. Also, here's a post that has some info about the hubs that my be of help:
