my new forward facing exhaust manifold

I've still got a lot left to do on my build but I can finally check the main part of the turbo kit off the list. My buddy in Florida is a great fabricator and since I'm in NC I had to build my jig here and fly it down to him to build it. The turbo will be braced and the manifold is built with stainless flanges and sch 40 1.25" 304SS runners. Turbo is an hx35 with a t3 BEP exhaust housing, engine is a built 2 liter, trans is an r154, rear axle is a ford 8.8".

Those are some awesome TIG welds and the manifolds look freakin' great. What have you got planned for the cooling system? It looks like it's going to be tight with all the turbo plumbing facing that far forward (but with all the sheet metal out of the way the engine bay looks cavernous!)

Thanks! Radiator is actually sitting in there in the pics. It's a rywire 24"x9" tucked radiator, 3" thick and dual pass, rated at 1000hp. The intercooler and radiator will be mounted together so that they can be removed quickly and easily. New inner fenders will be made to keep the grime out of the bay, but I need to build the tube front/cage first

And some people whine about the cost of a header that DG builds for the bord.
Perhaps this will show them just how much time and work goes into these dam things. No matter what direction they point.

People whine about everything camoit. They don't see the equipment needed to cut and bend it, they don't see the time spent jigging it so it bolts up without fouling anywhere in the engine bay, they don't see the hours spent to weld it together without blowing holes in it or the cost of using high grade stainless steel pipe to make them. They do however see the crap headers on ebay for half the price - and they'll once again be the first ones to whine when the cheap ass ones leak, don't bolt up right, don't make much of an improvement on how their engine runs or crack in 6 months time...

thanks everyone! yes my buddy is talented for sure, I am lucky to have had him build this for me. Unfortunately yes, many people are always looking for the cheapest route, especially when it comes to these trucks since they can be had for so cheap (in comparison to the majority of vehicles people modify). I am trying to disregard that and put as much attention into this build as I would a chassis that was 10x the cost. It can have me skeptical at times, but overall I'm pretty happy with where it's headed. At least I often tell myself that haha

The 4G63 twin cam turbo is Mitsubishis finest hunk of bomb proof engineering. And therein lies the beauty of this era of Mitsubishi - cross compatibility plus building them on a realistic budget. When you're creating a bespoke part there isn't a price tag you can attach to the end result except the grin factor. Seeing someones' reaction when you pop the hood will be just as priceless.

thanks! those are 315s on a 17" x 10.5" Mustang wheel. Only used for rolling the truck around my shop, they dont clear when turning lol. Daily tires are 245/45/17s on a 17" x 9". Hoping to make a little more progress here soon so I can post a build thread.
