Front brake upgrade (Brembo/Cobra/5 lug).....slight teaser of my build!

Finished this brake setup over a year ago but never got around to sharing it as the truck is still not done and all. Calipers are Brembo 4 piston from a Cadillac CTS-V, rotors are aftermarket OE replacement Mustang Cobra 13" , hubs are toyota, and wheel studs are extended Ford fitment (to match rear 8.8" axle studs). Spindles are OEM but have been machined down (move the caliper inward) to get the correct caliper offset (center the pads around the rotor) and drilled out on one end to accept the caliper mounting bolt spacing. Rotors has to have the center bores increased/machined out a bit so that the toyota hub could fit through it as well. Thankfully these rotors are only $30 a piece from advance auto so its not a huge problem to replace/machine new ones when the time comes. Calipers came silver, yellow was a test color, Final color will be gold and wheels will be black. Figuring out wheel size was another battle, but these are 17x9 +30 and the tires pictured are much too narrow so those will be gone in favor of some 245s

Impressive to say the least! An EVO IX dash? This must've been a challenge to get all the under dash ducting and A/C + heater connected. This thing is gonna be mean...

Thanks guys! Yup evo dash was only an inch thinner than the MM one, however the lid needed to be cut back quite a bit. Originally planned to use the factory evo dash bar but with the roll cage I'll just be mounting it to that instead. AC/heat has definitely been a challenge, but I'm going with a vintage air aftermarket unit which allows me to run the ducting however needed. The condenser is mounted in the bed, so it further helps with running the hoses.

I'm using a 5 spd Aisin AR5 from a 2006 Chevy Colorado. Its the same housing as a toyota r154 with some slight changes/upgrades internally and the shifter location is within an inch of the factory MM shifter. Coupled with one of Bill's adapter housings, it bolted right up.

Im looking into what transmission to run, would like to keep it Mitsu. BUT Bills housing/ r154 setup seems to be the best bet. And the R154 can be built up, no problem I bet.

no problem! if you're planning to make a good bit of power and plan to drive it hard, I'd go with an r154 or a T56 as these are both really solid options. There are also multiple places that can and will build either trans for you if necessary.

I see you blocked off the window cranks. Looks like you added power windows? What'd you use for that, if you're ready to share?

I'm planning to run lancer door panels if I can figure it out, but I did run the power window setup you see in the pic for a few months with no issues. It's just a universal eBay power window/lock kit. Very easy to install. I installed it all with an alarm as well, but you don't have to

Great work on the brakes. That is quite the project to take on. I did the Montero rotor/caliper swap and that was enough work.

thanks a lot! was definitely a challenge, and unfortunately I just got my drop spindles in the mail and now they HAVE to be machined too lol. I knew when I initially did it that I should have been working with drop spindles the entire time, but I was worried that it wasnt going to work and I'd end up wasting expensive spindles. Back to the machine shop haha

This isn't my truck. But it's the goal I set as far as options and overall cleanliness. I've got pretty much everything except the center console.

Yours definitely wins on uniqueness. I'm really interested to see how you make the Lancer doors work.

im not sure that the door panels are going to work just yet but I think they will. From what I've messed with thus far, they need to be cut down and plastic welded back together to fit the trucks shorter door lengths.
