Performed this swap several years back. Took a 97 Montero 9" Disc Brake Axle and installed my 4.22 LSD in it. So far its been good and reliable.

Anyone else perform rear axle swaps? How are they holding up?

I swapped in a Dana 44 high pinion and GM 12 bolt axles with 4.56 gears and lockers in my 82. Haven't broken them yet even with 38" Super Swampers.

LOL at Me!!
Sorry!
I got this thread confused with the thread about the 2.4 4x4 5 speed build outputting enough torque to negate the laws of physics .
-Great pictures & Thx for taking the time to post-

Yeah I'm following that one too, sounds entertaining. I'm the guy wanting pictures of his supposed 2.4 with huge power.

I would say it's either built with race engine parts or its bullshit, but then again there is a 1250 WHP 4G63 colt on YT.

Can we keep the thread hijacking out of the thread from here on in. Axle swaps guys as per Chargerx3 has requested (show some respect for his thread) This stuff is a helpful resource for anyone attempting the swap from members who have intel on how they did it (not necessarily the 'right' or 'only' way, but what parts and vehicle source they used and how it was done)
