Noob from TN

Hey all,

I recently bought an 86 MM longbed, 2wd, atx from my neighbor for $150

I just replaced the valve seals, and its running better every day. The EGR valve seems to come on too soon due to a bad ECT, and I had to wire the choke open.

Now I just need to work out the rust on the cab. The door sills are pretty gone, and the floorboards are shot. The drivers door pillar has rotted clean off the body mount.
I plan to rebuild it quick and dirty, or I may try to track down a cab in better shape.
In either case I need to get it on the road soon so my gf can drive it to work.

Just moved down to the tri-cities area of TN from north central Maine.

On a side note, if anyone needs to do the seals in their jetvalves, they are really easy to replace, I was able to get the old stem seals off and new ones back on by hand.

Jet valves there the shame of the D-50. I just did the 2.0L head swap on to my 2.6 no jet valves or cracking any more. I think the thread is in engine and trans.

Thank you for the warm welcome.

I was wondering why, as a registered user, I am still getting messages saying I dont have the credentials to view attachments and stuff. Is that just because I dont have a high enough post count??

Didn't know you can put a 2.0l head on a 2.6.
What 2.0 head did you put on it?
What other non jet valve heads can I put on my 2.6L?
