Pennyman: Really..? I've read that the 4,6, some 8's used the Saginaw 4spds and some of those were the aluminum bodied ones. (those didn't like much torque) BUT then again, they used the parts bins from most every maker out there at the time.
I'll have to dig out my books and shop manuals. I was immersed in them years ago but since getting into the Mitsubishis, I've forgotten lots.
SO, any info on the "top-loader" trannys?
It looked to be a corse spline input shaft, but the clutch looked fairly stout..

I did pick up some aluminum cleaner that has a acid base in it for some other projects, so maybe I'll give it a good scrubbin and get all the markings/#'s off of it.
