HOW to fix wiper arms/linkage??
Good evening guys.
I gots a situation. When it was cold out, I tried to use the wipers before the window defrosted
and the drivers side did it's job but the pass side one just "popped" off down inside and just the
drivers side one works now.
I pulled the little panel off in the engine compartment but can't feel where it would pop back together.
ANYONE have any insight on working with these?
The crappy hanes manual doesn't show much of anything.

Remove the arms. Then take the big nut off the pivots. Pull the three bolts for the motor is. And the whole assembly slides out that hole. It's kind of a pain but it does come out. Then you can work on the ball and socket. It's a plastic cup with a metal ball.

That looks like it broke. You will need to find a new arm assembly. Bummer deal. They have a tendency to freeze up because the grease is old and gone. I had the pivot nut self destruct when taking mine apart.

Thanks for the info. It's been sitting and thought he'd be driving it by now BUT.
Son told me he didn't like the 86 because (get this..) the mirrors!
OK, I told him. I'm selling the 86 and KEEPING THE MONEY.
Then found him a '88 Comanche with a 2.5/4spd.
Now he's pissin about driving a stick. I tell ya..
I'll get in there tomorrow and see if I can find out how to get it out.
I've messed with those types before with Honda's but usually a whole cover comes off exposing the linkage and such.
Then I'll re-grease it all and stuff it back in.
Thanks again. Errol

Buy him a bicycle, that will teach him, and with no mirrors and 1 gear. Wish my parents bought me a car. I had to by my mom's VW and totaled it over a cliff 6 months later. Should of seen Mom's face when she saw the after effects of her baby, every panel had damage and roof caved in.
I might have a set of control arms for wipers around here somewhere if your desperate. They came from an 87 MM automatic
