    Crank Pulley Removal Procedure

    Hello everyone, the head rebuild I planned turned into a full rebuild.I am caught up trying to get this crank timing pulley off, though. Manual says to stick a screwdriver through the holes on the pulley to lock it in place and use a breaker bar turning to the right as it is a reverse thread. The pulley in the manual is a different design, and I did not have much luck locking this in place to do the same. I can't even tell if this is a bolt on the end, to be honest. Or, if I need a puller to get it off with an impact or slide hammer. No stranger to using some elbow grease but don't want to ruin any critical components. I would appreciate any information for some peace of mind to send it with one approach or another, thanks.

    I could be wrong but I dont think so... I dont think mitsu ever did a reverse thread bolt on their stuff... you should be able to turn it to the left like loosening any normal bolt... side note.. if its out of the truck.. put a socket and breaker bar on the flywheel bolts to hold it in place.. and another on the front to loosen it.. a screw driver will more than likely bend...snap or just plain screw something up..

    Cool, good to know. I'll try lefty loosey then

    It is out of the truck, fully disassembled save this, timing cover, and crank. Flywheel and rear main seal plate are off, but ill just thread a couple bolts back into it and give that a try, screwdriver was making me nervous for the same reason especially my cheap ones. Appreciate the tips will update tomorrow if I remember
