Trying to save my Dad's truck

Hello all! I have my Dad's 1995 Mighty Max and have kept it running since I lost him in 2017. It was in almost pristine condition untiil someone rear ended me, but other than missing the tailgate and the driver side corner of the bed and bumper being bent it's still a great truck for around the place and teaching the new generation how to drive a standard. Recently my daughter needed it and she didn't even make it home ~20 minutes away before it overheated. We had it towed back home and I found the leak - freeze plug on the back of the head.

Problem is it won't start. It's a hard turnover with the starter and won't even hit to try to crank. I have fuel at the rail. I have spark from the distributor. I started tearing down bit by bit to see if I could find anything. The timing was still right so the belts didn't slip. Counterbalance, Oil Pump, Water Pump, Idler Pulleys all turn fine. No water in the oil. No water in the cylinders ( I pulled the plugs, checked with a long screwdriver and a small piece of hose to see if it would show anything ). At this point I'm about to continue pulling the head to replace the freeze plug and actually see inside the cylinders, but I'm stumped. I don't want to pull the engine and complete rebuild if I don't have to, but I can't find any reason it won't try to start.

Can anyone suggest something I haven't checked?

can you turn the motor over by hand? (well a ratchet on the crank pully.).. do you know how long she drove it for after it over heated? might of siezed the motor..

It's not siezed and I don't know how long she drove it. I got the head off yesterday and there was a little bit of coolant in the cylinders, just not enough to pick up with a tool. I can see where it leaked through the bottom of the gasket into them. Initial inspection of the block and heads, it doesn't look like they are warped. Going to take the head to a machine shop tomorrow and see if it's cracked or warped and can be rebuiilt. So I guess that explains why it wouldn't even try to start?
