    1989 Ram 50 help

Good evening all, join this form along time ago, but finally bit the The bullet and got myself a 1989 ram 50 2 WD extended cab. I’m super stoked as this was the very first truck I ever bought not the same one obviously

It is fairly complete, but I am missing a few items

Standard transmission, rear glass tailgate front grill.

Looking to see if anyone has information on if any of the Mazda transmissions will work as they seem to be more readily available and possibly the rear glass.

    VIN number
    Production date, March 1989
    JB7FL55E1KP048149

any information or help you can pass on would be fantastic hoping to get it up and running for summertime

Only a guess, but I'd reckon the trans from a Mazda B2600 should at least mate up to a 2.6L G54B engine, since that's the same engine the B2600 used. Note the B2600i was a different engine, so may or may not have a different bellhousing pattern.

That said, I don't know if that trans would have the gear shift lever in the same or close-enough location, or if it'd be the same length to put the output shaft yoke in the same position to allow using your stock driveshaft without modification. Also, pretty sure the B2600 was 4WD only, so that'd be another complication adapting that trans to a 2WD drivetrain.

Are you looking for a fixed or sliding back glass? I sold my sliding one to a guy, can see if he would part with his old fixed glass. Shipping would be a risk though

I do appreciate everyone offering up their personal stock/collection of parts. Unfortunately, I’m up in Canada near Calgary Alberta. I feel most places the parts will be coming from. It would be the states.

I’m just wondering if anyone knows if a bunch of stuff from the 22 and the 26 Mazda trucks fit the ram 50s is there an interchange list anywhere

The Mazda and Mitsubishi trucks are unrelated, so doubt there's much interchange at all. The only things I know of are that the B2600 used the Mitsubishi 2.6L G54B engine, and I've read the seats can be a nut'n'bolt swap between the 4th-gen Mazda (1985–1998) and 2nd-gen Mitsu (I'd reckon maybe they happened to use the same supplier for those), and that's about it.

On the rear glass. It is easy to install.
I had a double suction cup thing and used a Steel Rubber gasket and some clothes line. They have a video of it. You put the gasket on the glass. Then you put the clothes line in the slot for the truck tab on one side across the top and down the other side. I had the bench seat out. Then lift it with the suction cup from inside the cab and place the bottom slot on the lower tab of the truck where it goes. then pulling hard on the suction cup to hold the gasket/window tight to the place it goes, and grab one end of the clothes line and slowly pull the line and if you did it right the rubber lip will come around from the outside to the inside where it goes. I tell you this in case you can find glass in MT ID or WA. You could drive over and change it out yourself with only the cost of gas and parts. Other folks make that rear gasket too. I cut out the old one with a razor knife.
Here is the video I was off by a little bit. They put the rope all the way around it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvcJ_lU_VpQ
