    I.D.K.?

    No spark

Trying to help my neighbor. He has a 1987 ram 50. He replaced the 2.0 with a 2.4l. It ran one time and then nothing. It cranks but no spark. The distributor is from a 2.0l and was replaced with module & pickup. Coil also replaced, new plugs. No spark at coil wire or plug wires. 12v with key on at resistor block and coil. The carb was replaced with a Weber carb that ran with old engine. Does this truck have a ECM? Found something that looks like one by glove box. If so how do you check it? Not sure on the wiring from distributor. Blue wire going to negative on coil. The other wire goes to resistor block with the two black & white wires. Need some help on where to go from here. Thanks in advance.

Hm, the 2.4L (4G64 engine) was never offered with a carb, only FI. Sure that isn't actually a 2.6L (4G54 engine)? If it's got a timing chain under the valve cover, rather than a plastic timing-belt cover separate from the valve cover, it's prolly a 2.6L G54B.

Both of those engine families (4G5* and 4G6*) came in a 2.0L variant, so I suppose it's possible he swapped the carb'd intake manifold from the original 2.0L 4G63/G63B over to a 2.4L 4G64.

Any ECM for carb'd trucks would only have worked with the stock Mikuni carb and its feedback control box (mounted on the driver's inner fender, maybe removed from yours by now), so it serves no purpose at all with a Weber swap. Electronic ignition is controlled entirely separately with an integrated ICM and trigger sensor mounted inside the distributor.

This thread covers ignition coil wiring, where I recommend the Herko B108 as a suitable replacement coil:
