    battery size question

    I have a '87 mighty max and every parts place that i look up recoments a size 51 battery but taht has a with of only 5 in and that is too small to fit in the battery tray without sliding around. can someone recomend a better size?

    I had no trouble fitting a Group 34 size in my '87, went with an AGM type for better storage capacity and longevity.

    51 is a common honda civic size(narrow/tall). Mmax calls for group 75 Mine= 10 x 6.5 x 9(Height)
    Napa 7524 'fit' good. Has +ve terminal at right hand side as oem, but I don't like the +ve close to the body
    So I run R version (with the +ve on the left)... actually used a $75 26R for a while

    walmart lists size & show +ve terminal position
    I'd rig a battery hold-down also
