Console question

This lower piece on the front section of the console, is it a sperate piece as mine doesn't have it creating a big gap. You can see in this picture lower is a different color grey

There are 2 metal cross members that are attached to the floor that hold it in place. The gap is just old plastic loosing it's shape. A heat gun and light pressure can fix it. Just don't over heat the part. I would remove the thing and work on it with a heat gun and some metal to clamp it in place while it cools.
