    Bad MAF?

Hey y'all I'm new to the forum and want to thank you for this awesome resource.

I've recently acquired a 1991 Mighty Max 2.4L 4G64 auto transmission from a guy who had let it sit for the past couple of years due to it "starving for fuel." Upon initial inspection, the fuel pump wasn't pumping, so I replaced the fuel pump. It still didn't pump so temporarily I bypassed the fuel relay with a toggle switch to control the power to the pump. Pump works and fuel is getting to the fuel rail.

She turns over good but is very hard to start (if it will) and no power. I checked the timing belt and it looks new (I'm the 3rd owner and the 1st was an older guy who had it serviced regularly), so pretty sure that belt was changed bc it looks so good.

When I unplug the MAF sensor, she fires right up but throws the code (bc it's not plugged in), and when it's plugged in, she hardly wont start at all. I cleaned the OE MAF sensor but no change. I think I have a bad MAF sensor but I'm not a mechanic by trade so not sure if that's what it is or if someone else may have experience with theirs doing the same thing and it was something else. Is there anything else it could be, or am I correct in thinking it is a bad MAF? Those sensors are almost impossible to find so I was kinda hoping it was something easier to fix lol. If I can't locate a good MAF, is there any way to get it on the road relatively inexpensive (within $1k)?

    Any help is much appreciated.

Amazon says it won’t fit the truck. What I’ve found is most of what is available is for the 3.0L models and that may be the case for this one, but thanks for the reply
