    '92 6g72 coil

    Replacing ignition components on my 2G Montero (SOHC 3.0, old school distributor). Got most of them UNTIL: I can't seem to figure out how to disconnect the coil 12v connector. I'm sure I have to squeeze the bejeezus out of it, but where? There's a rubber boot over it, oval-shaped right where it joins the coil, then squarish/boxy at the harness end. I've tried pushing in and squeezing it every way I can think of, with no luck. Don't want to do surgery on the boot for a clearer look. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

    Looking at pics of replacement coils, I'd reckon the boot may simply have a lip inside the end that would wrap around a flange I see on the coil terminal, so if you can gently pry the boot off from that flange, the connector should pull free:
