    Lowering Kit Fitment Issues

    Hello everyone

I recently bought a 1985 Mighty Max from somebody, and with it came two bell tech nitro drop 2 shocks for the front end. The previous owner already installed the lowering blocks and shocks in the rear suspension.

I went to swap them in the front and the bell tech shocks won’t fit through the bottom control arm opening that the OEM shocks came out of. The shroud on the top half of the shock is ~2mm too wide. Was planning to remove the cover on the shocks to get them to fit, is there another solution anyone is familiar with?

At a bit of a loss as it seems like a lot of Mighty Max owners run this kit.

    Thanks,
    Sam

I had the same issue.. I used a hammer and lightly smashed down each side of the shock (carefully) untill it fit... if I had a dremel or other round sanding tool I would of lightly removed a lil off the lower arm also.. but as long as u dont go hog wild swinging on the shock...and take ur time it will work...

I appreciate it. I was just gonna grind the top cover off, are they necessary on shocks? Or is it just to keep it a little cleaner? Not very familiar with suspension
