High pitch squeal in 5th Gear under load

hey all i have an 83 Ram D-50 2 wheel drive and it has developed a really high pitch squeal in 5th Gear when under load if i shift back to 4th it all goes away it only happens in 5th anyone have any ideas as to what it might be im sure i will be pulling the Tranny soon to look just thought i would check here and see if anyone has had any of the same issues

Sounds like the pocket bearing is going out. That’s the bearing between the input shaft, and the output shaft. Change the oil check for metal.
