    You can still get tubular headers for them. But if you want a stock one you will have to get used

    Looks like PaceSetter (mfr. of tubular exhaust headers) may be out of business (Google says "permanently closed"), but maybe you could find one still in stock somewhere? Part nos. were 70-1020 or 701020 (black painted) and 72c1020 (chrome-look heat coated). Note these really only benefit high-end peak HP but nerf low-end torque as a tradeoff.

    I can't seem to find the pacesetter anywhere. Do you guys think this one will fit? It says its made for the Mitsubishi Pajero. Does anyone know if the Mitsubishi Pajero and mighty max headers are cross compatible? : https://www.southerncrossperformance...actors-scph038

    Note that's a ".com.au" domain, so they're in Australia, which explains the "Southern Cross" in their name, so shipping may be a doozy if available at all. FWIW, they also list this one for the Triton specifically, which is what the 2nd-gen trucks were called down there:

    That's why they call it an exhaust, because it's exhausting work.

    The header I ordered came all the way from Australia. I couldn't find one made in the states or even China. It's made in Australia too. It was packaged minimally in a mummy like way with plastic wrap and some cardboard padding here and there. I assume to lower shipping costs to get it from Australia to Turtle Island. It did surprisingly arrive safely. The build quality appears to be okay for the price I paid. I'm no weld inspector, but some of the welds could be better. The gasket side wasn't all that flat so I lapped it. It would have probably still sealed, but I just had to lap it dead flat to give me peace of mind. Lots of elbow grease and 100 grit paper. Better quality sandpaper would have made the lapping process quicker. Unfortunately, it was not plug and play. I had to bend the very end of the curve on the header to get it fitted right. Took a couple attempts to try and bend it, but it wouldn't budge! So I torched it until it was cherry red and it finally forfeited and bent easily. Other than the slight bend and lapping of the gasket surface, everything else was okay. These headers were most likely made for non 4x4 vehicles, which is why I theorize it was bent the way it was or perhaps the Australian version(L200) of these trucks are just that much different to necessitate having it bent the way it was. Regardless, I understood possible modifications were probably going to happen before placing my order. Got it from eBay.     I have the above headers on my Australian 2wd 1980 L200, I can fill in some of the details in your last post. They're for a Pajero, which are all 4wd. There's no international differences in L200/mighty Mac/d50 cross members. As you will have discovered, the tail end of the header doesn't align with the concave hump in your vehicle's crossmember. You've done well to convince it to join your stock exhaust. I'm putting a new exhaust off mine with a flex joint, my 45 year old exhaust is toast anyway.
    I think Pajero was sold as Shogun in the states? That might remind you what vehicle we're talking about

    I just noticed your vehicle is an '88, so the note about the crossmember clearance probably doesn't apply. For any first gen owners considering this header, you multiple bends to weave it to the correct location

    UK got the Shogun badging. They were called Montero here (or Dodge Raider) cos Pajero is a Spanish idiom for "wanker", and either there's enough Spanish speakers here for that to be a problem, or it was just simpler to use the same name for all exports to North/South America.

    I wonder about the performance difference, vs oe exhaust manifold.... if exhaust upgraded already ?
    For stock to mildly moded motors that is. Worth the hassle ?

    My understanding is these tubular headers open up some high-end peak HP, but at a tradeoff to some low-end torque.
