    Hello 808Ram,

Did you feel either of those two quakes this week..? Nada up here in Kailua, Oahu... Member KCKC decided not to have me ship the gearbox coz unless their gearbox gets inspected measured in all aspects to compare to the one I have it most likely won't fit their 1991 RWD truck...

I ordered this power steering gearbox for my 1986 4X4 truck from BAP and nine months later my mechanic friend said it don't fit when he tried to install it (different spline & diameter for the Pitman arm ~ too small the sector shaft diameter for the 4X4 Pitman arm splined hole)..! Yikes it was too late to return but BAP offered to give me credit for other items on their website NONE of which I wanted or fit my truck...

Anyway, I can't be 100% sure what gearbox they sent me because they swore on a stack of bibles twice over the phone that IT WAS a 4X4 BUT IMHO it's a Mitsubishi RWD power steering gearbox for what year trucks I dunno; it fit ok except for the Pitman arm...

Most likely the leak you have is at the sector shaft seal (?) Member FSM88 fixed his leaking sector shaft by machining it smooth with J&B Weld then sandpaper ~ he said it worked & stands the test of time..! The seal eventually wears grooves into the the sector shaft causing the leak AND BTW this rebuilt gearbox from BAP came with wear grooves on the sector shaft (half baked rebuild..?)

All I can suggest with regard to having me ship you this FREE (you pay shipping) gearbox is for you to completely inspect, take measurements, etc... of your gearbox... Paying special attention to the input & sector shafts diameters and spline counts and hydraulic hose fitting sizes 'n threads... I don't want to send it to a person FREE unless 100% it will fit their truck (plus it has wear grooves on the sector ~ otherwise I assume the rebuild is sat ~ all I did was remove the sector to see if a 4X4 sector shaft would fit AND IT DOES NOT because the 4X4 shaft has 3 internal gear teeth & the RWD has 5 gear teeth)... <--- assuming a RWD has 5 gear teeth (this one has 5 teeth)

I made a tel call couple years ago to MOOG Company Technical Data Center (google their #) the rep had all sorts of data for their products and parts ~ he gave me their Pitman arm hole diameters, spline count and distance from hole C/L to joint end shaft AND shapes of the RWD AND 4X4 arms...

I had enough info then and going by part diagrams 'n sketches only, I ordered what I hope might fit when we someday try fixing the leaky sector on my truck ~ I ordered a $250.00 + shipping from Japan right hand drive Mitsubishi Strada truck sector shaft...

My posts & photo albums show my $250.00 Japanese Prize

Be careful what you buy on the internet

    Happy Christmas,
    George

P.S. Your truck is nice & I know folks are saying NICE TRUCK and lot of em wanna make an offer to buy ~ enjoy it..!
