Valve Question
My Valves have been tapping ever since I've replaced the timing belt. About 2 yrs ago. My timing belt had a couple of missing teeth. Anyway My truck's valves tap for anywhere from 8 to 15 miles down the road then tey quiet down. I have no power loss. But it does seem to help if I run Midgrade gas. Whats the best way to address this issue short of having the head rebuilt or replaced?
Thanks

You need to figure out witch ones are tapping first. It's probably needing to just replace a couple of the hydraulic adjusters. First check your timing. The gas thing makes me say that.

Run a bottle of redline synthetic fuel treatment through with a tank of gas to clean out the carbon in the cylinders, then check the intake and exhaust manifolds bolts for tightness. My Dad's 88 2.6 pinged like that until I got the carbon out of it and tightened everything down. Also check the egr valve for carbon in the tracks of the intake
