    Rearend Fitment

I was wondering if you could fit a 1st Gen rearend differential assembly in a 2nd Gen? Because I found a 1985 long bed Ram 50 with a 3.54 gear ratio and my 1994 Mighty Max has a 3.90 gear ratio.

    Yes, it's functionally the same

There are some differences. I did the reverse, a 2nd gen lsd diff into my 2st gen

They have different brake setups, later ones have duel action pads vs the leading edge ones in thr early diffs. On paper the later set up is better.
And the brake hose mounts are different, I found it easier to use the 2.d gen hose on my 1st gen, I think it might be fine the other way round.

    Otherwise it bolts in fine

Ok thank you for the info. I'm glad to hear that. I will be pulling the rearend differential axle assembly this weekend. I will swap it out asap and give my feedback on it.
