    Better idle & less miss

Have only one vehicle, 1986 Power Ram50 ~ trying to make it dependable enough to use for groceries, doctors, recreation...

TODAY got idle & running better; did the following:

    1) Compression tested the cylinders with all plugs removed/results (#1 130pis #2 130psi #3 140psi #4 120psi )
    2) Installed correct new spark plugs NGK5ES (was using NGK6ES)
    3) Capped off vacuum line to air cleaner snorkel inlet valve (bad bimetallic vacuum valve was preventing outside air getting in...)
    4) Adjusted the idle set screw using a laser tachometer to achieve 750RPM idle speed...
    5) Removed tested, cleaned the EGR valve & cleaned the EGR intake passageways...
    6) Cleaned rotor & distributor cap electrical contacts...

Accelerator pedal is sensitive any wiggle my foot causes truck to surge & buck ~ must rest my foot on the trans hump for smooth throttle response ~ hope the tailpipe color does not turn black ~ truck runs better & more power at WOT...
