I pulled my truck engine back in 2017 and dropped it off at a local machine shop (friend works there). Shortly after I was diagnosed with cancer and the project was put on hold. Now almost 6 years later after surgery to remove the tumor, I'm finally able to continue my project.
Unfortunately in those 6 years the flywheel went missing. I've been having a heck of a time trying to find a 2.6 flywheel other than $500 aluminum ones. The ones for 2.0 and 2.4 are less than a $100 at the parts stores. I did come across this site and it shows that the 2.0 and 2.6 being the same, but it's the ONLY source that says this. Anyone know if they are interchangeable, or know where I can buy one that's not a high price aluminum one?

The 2.0/2.4 and 2.6 flywheels aren't the same. The 2.6 is bigger plus its ring gear has 120 teeth. As best I could measure, one I have from an '87 truck has an outer diameter of 11.906". The outer ring gear diameter is 12.125" and it's supporting shoulder or inner ring gear diameter measured 10.656".
