I'm trying to change the windshield wiper on a 1990 mitsubishi mighty max. This is the way the blades connect. I have no idea how to install a new blade onto this arm. The pin stays on the wiper blade instead of in the wiper arm.

If the pin is permanently affixed to the wiper (not just stuck/wedged in there but removable w/ effort), you'll need to get new wipers with an attachment kit that includes a replacement pin (I think some 17" do?).
I think ANCO has a part # for just a pair of pins, if you can find an auto-parts store that carries them or willing to look up and order them (prolly better luck with local jobber-oriented parts supply shops rather than the major chains).

I had this problem too and never found a good replacement. Getting the pins wasn’t good because they fit too loose.
What I did in the end was, get new wipers and carefully remove the rubber wiper strips from them and thread them into my old wipers.
If your old wiper assemblies are in good enough condition this might be a good way to go. Good luck~
Some auto-parts suppliers may also carry wiper inserts, just the rubber squeegee with a metal strip embedded, that would slide into your existing stock armatures.
Another option: apparently Volvo 200-series wiper arms will swap right over, and come with a J-hook attachment that fits most replacement wiper blades.
