    Control Arm Bushings?

    Was rotating my tires today when I found this, bushing has completley rotted off and disapeared from the passenger's side upper control arm bushing (I beleive that's the proper name for it?) Are these the correct bushings for all of the front upper/ lower control arm bushings?

    Your photo doesn’t show any control arm bushings.
    Maybe some better photos/descriptions of the problem and you’ll be able to get help.

    Upper ball joint. The link goes a listing for new lower control arm bushes. The upper pivot bushes are different to the lowers and there are 2 types of upper bushes. Lower ball joints bolt into the control arm and are easy to change. Check the radius rod bushes as well. Failed radius rod bushes will cause the lower control arms to move laterally.

    that's the upper ball joint. The rubber can fall off and things can still be good for years if you keep greasing it.
    To check that you put a jack under the lower A arm and then push and pull the tire on the top. If it moves it's bad. To check the lower ball joint put a bar under the tire and lift it up and down. You should not see any movement.

    After greasing my truck's front suspension & steering joints I found two parts that would not accept grease ~ drivers side lower ball joint & passenger side outer tie rod ~ still drives ok 'no noises BUT eventually those parts should be replaced ~ FWIW all (4?) rubber control arm bushings are very dry cracked BUT will keep driving it until something breaks

    If you jack up the A arm on the one that doesn’t take grease. It will take the load off the ball joint and it will take grease.

    Oh yeah, it moves real bad, you can even hear it clunk over bumps and when turning right in parking lots

    Then you need to get a ball joint press and drop in a new one. You can get a cheap one at Hobo Fright

    My truck started making a clunk noise whenever the passenger tire hit bottom of good sized potholes ~ a local mechanic inspected saying upper ball joint was bad & he replaced both upper ball joints in O'Reilly's parking lot one evening ~ noise is gone..!
