Howdy all - getting everything dialed in on my Weber install on my 86 2.0 automatic. Just looking for some guidance on the kickdown cable - I've read all the past threads, but haven't found anything conclusive.

The Weber doesn't move through as big an arc as the Mikuni. Right now, I've got the kick down adjusted so that at idle (off the choke) there's the tiniest bit of play - IE, the kick down isn't under tension. That means that at full throttle, the kickdown isn't reaching full extension.

Obviously it would make sense to adjust it the other way round, but I'm not clear if doing so will cause any premature transmission wear by keeping the kick down partially pulled all the time. Based on what I can read in the shop manual, it seems like it'll be ok, but I know nothing about how automatic transmissions work, and looking at the diagrams in the manual made me dumber. Any experts have advice?

Thanks!
