Tire question for 1988 2WD Mighty Max

My 1988 MM has 195/70 R14 tires the PO slapped on there. I'm looking to swap in some all-terrain tires instead but first want to make sure they'll fit on the stock 14 inch steel mag wheels. Would these Goodyears work? From what I can tell, they rolled these MMs out of the factory with 195/75 R14 tires, so I figured they would. But I'm getting thrown by some online fit checker tools that are telling me they won't work for my truck. If these are a no-go, any other suggestions for all-terrain tires? Thanks much

My '87 owner's manual lists P195/75R14 as stock, with an optional upgrade to P205/75R14 or LT195/75R14 or P225/75R15 (4x4), so you should be fine.

Not sure what those online tire checkers are about, tho' that does make me wonder what other size they're suggesting?

I thought so but it's just nice to hear it from someone else too. And you know, it's the Amazon tire checker tool giving me a "no" on these particular Goodyear tires. I thought the same was true for the ebay one, but I just realized I had the "1-ton" MM model selected instead of "Base" there. After changing that, ebay says the tires fit.

Aha, it was prolly requiring an LT (Light Truck) rather than P (Passenger) spec of tire for the 1-ton variant, as LT tires are rated to carry a higher cargo weight.

That would make sense. Actually inspires some confidence in the ebay checker, if it's sensitive to that distinction

They're all 75 profile tires and going up to 205 is only an extra 10mm of rubber.
