    Electronic Ignition Conversion

Hello everyone! Does anybody know where I can find an electronic Ignition Conversion kit for my 1995 Mitsubishi L200. The distributor part number is MD319948? There is also another number on the distributor which is 4291000230 which I dont know what it means. If anybody knows of a conversion kit that will fit my truck I would be very grateful. Thank you!!!

There are direct replacement OEM electronic distributors for these engines. Swapping it out will save you a lot of messing around. They are used in both the trucks and vans and are interchangeable. Your engine has to be a G32B 1.6 or a G62B 1.8/G63B 2.0 for it to be running vacuum advance as the 4G64 is fuel injected and timing is controlled by the ECU.

The 4G54/G54B 2.6L also came with stock electronic ignition in its later years, not sure if relevant to OP's needs, though.

There's a plastic timing cover sort of visible in the OP's images so it narrows down the options.

Thank you guys for your help. I think I found a conversion kit. I spoke with a tecnitian from Pertronix Ignitions. It seems like the Pertronix 1944 kit is the one for my car. This kit is for Mitsubishi distributors. Ill let you know if it works. Thanks.

wow. Didn't think Pertronix still made those conversion kits.
Normally you'd grab an 'elctronic' distributor from a later model, as mentioned. Points suck

Interesting suggestion! How to cross reference a proper OEM electronic distributor for a 1987 G63B?

For example, would one like this fit?

it'll work but it's odd that it is being recommended for a 4G64 (injected engines don't require a vacuum advance to adjust timing...)

I like points. Easy to fix and you can test for spark without turning the engine over.
