1994 Mighty Max with 5 speed manual compatible with 1994 Diamante 6g72 SOHC

I need to get an engine to replace my current 6G72 so I can rebuild it. I would like to put in a base SOHC Diamante engine to get the extra horsepower. Will it bolt up to my current transmission without any fabrication. 1994 Diamante SOHC 6G72 with 1994 V5MT1. I have found some information on this here, but not sure if the blocks are the same. I have read that it's almost a straight bolt on.

Will bolt to trans. Only slight issue is weather or not you have all the required bosses on the lower block to receive the engine mounts. If not you can weld some up.

Some sort of sticky thread should be made for such a great swap imo. Top notch idea, task & execution

Awesome thanks for the responses. I am looking for just a bump up in hp to do some rock crawling here in AZ. Not sure I need a huge increase, as I really like the truck as is, but if going to put in an engine, a little extra hp for minor effort is always nice! Found this thread on here, too so others can find out more if needed about this topic.
