I have an '88 Ram 50 with a 2.0 and manual trans.

I've installed a Redline 32/36 with a Redline fuel pressure regulator and a water filled pressure gauge. I'm trying to get the truck to run right on the stock pump, for now.

When I start the truck cold, the gauge will read 3 psi until it warms up. Then, the gauge reads zero, or close to it. The gauge won't show any difference when I adjust the FPR. I swapped the gauge for a non-water filled and the needle bounced from 2-4 psi, the whole time the truck ran.

Baby runs RICH at idle. Mixture screw is within the tuning guide and so is the idle speed screw. Timing is at 8 degrees, per the manual.

Questions;

1. What FPR are you using?
2. What might cause the gauge reading zero, while the truck is idling decently?
3. What timing are you running?
4. Has anyone seen a major rich condition from the float being set incorrectly?
