94 Mighty Max 2.4L Balance Shaft Seal Removal?

I recently started leaking oil really bad from center front of motor. (94 Mighty Max 2.4L) Narrowed it down to being the balance shaft seal on the lower driver side of motor.

I have removed the timing belt, and the 14mm bolt holding on the sprocket. Now, my question is, can I insert this new seal through the front WITHOUT removing the front cover and crank pulley? I have removed most of the old seal but I think some of it is still stuck.


The part that is circled in the photo, is this metal ring part of the old seal? Or is this part of the front cover? I am having a very hard time removing the last bits of the old seal.
