    Transmission rebuild experiment?

Alright everyone, so being the adventurous type I've decided to attempt to rebuild my trans with only the manuals section and grit, but if I get overwhelmed I will take it in to be serviced instead, does anyone have any tips?

Take photos, there's lots of bits but it's not outside the average mechanic

If manual, don't lose the little ball and spring when you take the covers iff

These transmissions aren't bad to rebuild. I had a bearing go out in mine and we rebuilt it ourselves, that was Christmas of 18 and it is still going good. We actually had a service manual for it, but I imagine the same stuff is in the manuals section. If not let me know and I can send you pictures from our manual if you need it.

Hey all, so I'm currently removing the 3-4th speed shift rail but can't figure out how to remove the poppet spring holding it, any advice?

There are caps in the sides of the transmission - inside of them are the shifter rod locator springs and ball bearings. Be careful removing them so you don't lose a ball bearing...
