    Custom grind cam???

What is the best cam for the turbo 2.6L??? I know a guy who went for a IVO 31 IVC 67 EVC 31 EVO 67 H.P. grind cam on his 2.4 but honestly it feels weak on the bottom end. My towing cam is IVO 12 IVC 62 EVC 10 EVO 66 but it's very low lift and idk if it will work good with the turbo. What's the best grind to get? Thanks! Paul

Changing the lift and duration will change the inherent characteristics of an engine. Everything you do is a compromise - there's no way you can have your cake and eat it too with engine building. You can cheat a little with forced induction - turbos artificially alter how much intake charge an otherwise stock engine would have. It's just as (maybe more so) important to get spent gases out of the engine with turbos. What grind are the Starquest/Conquest guys using or recommending?

My friend with the the factory draw through turbo 4G52 had to undo some really bad mods to his engine, one of which was a custom grind cam. The cam didn't 'make' power til 4-4,500 rpm and by then the turbo was out of breath (it also didn't help that the idiot PO used double valve springs and it wiped a lobe or 2 off the cam. The guy also used an air compressor regulator as a boost controller - don't ask, I don't know...) He swapped it for a stock cam and I rebuilt the CD175 carb + deleted the EGR system from the carb and exhaust. He got it boosting up to 20 psi and the thing would rip from 2,000 rpm onwards.

Yeah. But his lobe peaks are moved so its really different. Its got flat peaks and its like 290 duration

these motors like duration more than lift - above a certain lift, it makes no difference. This will really help a turbo motor especially.

Yeah. I saw a 320 dura cam with 180 lobe separation which is what I want, it's got the flat top lobes. But it's way out of my budget, so the towing cam will do.
