Got a pic of the plate? I thought the only 2.4 was the 4g64 possibly its a 2.6.
-
that is strange? Im curios what the options plate looks like too? im guessing it must be the 2.6. I have the factory parts catalog for 87-88 and can tell you the exact options your truck has by the vin number if you want. just need the first part of the vin though not the last 5 digits since thats the serial number part and you want to keep that private

better yet maybe ill have to post the chart on another thread so everyone can decode their vin, if its not already posted on here of course.

Ok, so i looked and its 24L, so like a body code. i an dumb lol. i kinda freaked and was like 'so i have what, a limited edition?'
anywho, I have complete service records, up to when it was parked in 2011. I even have a warning citation for 78 in a 55 from 2011 lol. The original retail installment contract with a $12,900.90 price tag on it says the VIN is JB7FM24E4HP095598
ill scan it and post it:2-1-88 (1).jpg

OK so first two digits are country of manufacture and make, J for japan and B for dodge, third is 7 for pickup truck.
4th is D-G indicating GVW yours being F for 4001-5000 lb
5th is line position L, M, and J. L for ram 50, M for power ram 50, and J is a raider
6th trim levels 1-6 with only 2, 4, and 5 being used for our trucks - 2 is base model
7th body style, 4 is short bed single cab, 5 is club cab short bed, and 9 is long bed
8th is engine D for 2L and E for 2.6L
9th is a check digit for the serial number section
10th is model year, H for 87' and J for 88'
11th is the assembly plant with P being Nagoya plant #2 which i think was all our trucks but they did have a #3 Nagoya plant listed as J
