1982 2.4 swapped runs like its skipping.

Ok so a freind of mine has a 82 D50 2wd with a 2.4 out a newer truck. Its fuel injected. It runs like it is skipping but we have replaced the injectors, plugs, wires, and distributor. Any suggestions?

I can only suggest testing each injector socket for pulse and look for anything that might indicate either intermittent injector or spark failure. If you have a broken wire somewhere in the injector loom, the constant vibration will cause it to break circuit. The DSM guys always struggle with fragile harnesses.

Other thing to add - always try to get engine error codes from the ECU. It will more often than not identify a fault or at least give you a hint at what is going down.

also check the ecm for bad caps - they fail and cause all kinds of poor running issues.
