If you install a non jetted head when you had a jetted head is there any other mods you need to do?

nope - just time everything properly and you are good to go. If mechanical lifters you need to adjust valve lash, but your 85 should be hydraulic lash adjusters.

Good to know Pennyman1. Just trying to run down the possible causes of poor MPG's. The head I replaced the old one with did not have jets. Any input on this thread? http://www.mightyram50.net/vbulletin...0015#post70015
What cam did you use?
I just bought a head from these guys. https://www.ramscyl.com/ It was already built, just remove and replace. My G63B is SOHC
Are you using a new cam with possibly a new profile? Might change power/efficiency.
Doubt a machine shop would add a custom grind cam to a reman'd head without charging a premium. Is there a difference between jet and non-jet intake manifolds? If there is - what are the chances of having a vacuum leak somewhere?

I'd start with a compression test before you throw a bunch of parts and money at it.
