clutch fans work very well. What's the problem ?
You're gonna b adding relay/fuse/wiring anyway with an electric fan.... so what's a sensor wire ?
once u find the appropriate spot somewhere along the cooling route, u can screw in some oem or aftermarket fan sensor with a pre-set temperature
I've used this simple type of adj sensor before http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01E52O5DG ~$15 back then
probe was either radiator fin type or clamped into top radiator hose. Worked well
Hayden also used to make an adj sensor/relay kit for dual fans.
Main fan came on 1st, 2nd fan at higher temp or with AC compressor. Worked excellent. $30. Don't c em anymore tho

Just to close this out....
i was able to replace the sensor in the first pic with a temp switch since my ac switch is broken and i had to bypass it a while ago. Electric fan works great after upgrading my alternator to one out of a Mitsubishi van.
