    1980 d50 new carpet question

Another question for all the experts here... I just bought a new carpet kit for my '80 D50 and seem to have quite a few broken clips that go between the truck and the kick plate... does anyone know where I can buy new clips or what a suitable substitute would be? Thanks!

My best suggestion would be to take one to a local body shop and show them. They normally have a selection of these kind of parts. You can then pick what will work best. They can point you in the best direction. There are literally thousands to pick from. But OEM I don't know. I know there is a plastic ring that goes through the carpet into the slot in the body. Then the kick plate goes in that. After 30 years you might need to improvise and upgrade. But you never know, call the dealer and ask them.

When I replaced the carpet in my 1980, I just cut the holes for the posts on the sill cover to go through and screwed them down - been that way for 20 years...
