1988 Power Ram 50 5 speed 4x4 4g63 swap tranny questions

Hello,
I am brand new here. I am no stranger to cars though and have several dsm vehicles.

I currently am swapping my 4x4 from the 2.6 NA to a turbo 4g63. I have researched and learned I need the wide block 2.0 from a 1987-89 automatic model. I also was reading about away to take a 5 speed from a narrow block and swap the tail-shaft and that will possibly work. I want more information on the tail shaft swap. I want to keep the 4wd.

As a side note I have a 2.6 turbo Starion motor and full wiring harness ecu ect..... I just like the 4g63 more. I'm trying to source the wide block or a transmission. I ultimately want the automatic tranny. But I will work with what i can locate.

Any information you can supply will greatly help.

The wide block 2.0 will bolt up to the wide block 2.6 tranny. use the clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel from the 2.6 and you are good as far as that goes...
