First off let me state I have no repair/shop manual....

Any tricks to removing the front crank timing sprocket? Ived tried light heat on it & iceing the crank snout
but it didn't wanna let go.
Im trying to yank it off to replace the seal behind it.

Any tips or insight would be super schwell.

It has a key slot on it. Do not use a puller it has a plate on the back of it. What I did was use a flat head screw driver and lightly pry it off. I'll post pictures of we're I failed and you can learn. These trucks and motors are very tempermental if you haven't noticed. Plus once you change this seal your gonna have to replace it Everytime you replace the timing belt. It will leak. I always get the best seal for the money. Also when you install it make sure it is flush with the block lightly tap it with a hammer. It is kinda tricky. If you have any other questions I can help or pm me! IMAG0038.jpgIMAG0037.jpg

Oh and you might have to go to your local mitsu dealer to get a new key for the crank!! I always do. It's pretty cheap

It's called a woodruff key. Do not lose it. Also make sure you put everything back to perfect timing. It is marked on the heads. One more question do you have a hydrolic or spring tensioner. Mine is spring loaded. I don't know if posting numbers is allowed here but hey we are all enthusiasts. Pm me for it and give me a call if you have a hard time getting it together! Good luck

I wrote a long PM back to you but your inbox is full. You need to delete some messages. So the short version. I ran into the same thing. You can try to use several small pry bars on the back on the sprocket until you do damage to the back flange. Once you break it you've solidified that she is on there too tight and will have to go to the next step.

Grab a cutoff wheel and cut down one of the grooves to split it. Now get a punch and a good hammer and start wacking away until it starts to separate. Once loose enough you can pry it off. Now just go and find a new or used one. I hit my local yard and found one pretty easy.
