    Auto Trans Shifting

Right now my truck falls on it's face at 4500 rpm. While I'm rarely there... it is quite a pain to pass someone and barely hit the 5000RPM that the truck will auto shift into third... even manual shifting doesn't help the case.

I have adjusted the kickdown and the truck STILL will only shift at full throttle at 5000RPM!!!!

I'm assuming that is in the governor and there is no way to adjust a lower shift point?

Last year at the Mopar Day I couldn't even get to 3rd gear as the truck takes forever to get to 5000 rpm.

If the truck would shift at 4200 RPM this truck would be MUCH happier.

    1991 ram 50 2.4 auto.

I'm assuming this tranny basically has A518 internals with a Mitsh cast case.

actually an a500 tranny with Mitsu specific bellhousing. Sounds like the kickdown still is not set right. should have just a slight bit of slack at curb throttle setting.
