    Coil Swap

Since my truck has been having terrible mileage and a lack of power I thought I would see if it was a spark issue.

I swapped the stock coil for a PS 91 Crane coil I had in my 65 Chrysler.

Surprised to find I have more power and the truck actually pulls not bad (for what it is) to 4000 and I don't use as much throttle ( running at 50 mph at 10 in of vacuum instead of the normal 6 in).

I'm assuming the stock coil just wasn't putting out enough voltage or something... but the truck seems happier.

On Tuesday I pickup the exhaust gasket so I can swap the cracked exhaust manifold for the one I have off of a 88 ram with a 2.0. I just have to weld up the EGR tube.

Next up is the head swap from the 2.0.

The factory coil on my truck gave me all kinds of trouble and i didn't realize it was the problem until i replaced it with a new Bosch factory fit replacement. it made a huge difference in drive-ability.
