(truck originally sold new in oregon), and, what the heck is a water heated valve for the choke and where do I locate it...new to these little trucks, have mine now for about a year...many thanks to those of you that explained the differance in engine blocks between an auto trans and a manual trans (Wide block and narrow block) see, I'm learning...any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated

The water choke (wax pellet choke) is the gadget on the side of the body of the carb where the smaller diameter coolant hoses pass in and out of. There should be a label in the engine bay identifying what emissions control were fitted to the engine in the engine bay somewhere.
