    94 V6 4X4 trans in an 87 with a 2.6?

I came across a thread mentioning the V5M21 being an upgrade to the KM-145 so long as the bell housings are from the 2.4 4cyl and not the 3.0 V6. so i thought i would ask to make sure, are the bell housings removable on these? I know next to nothing about the post 89' pickups and i know both my KM-145's are a one piece deal. I was browsing craigslist and found a 94' MM 4x4 with the V6 and i know i could get the bell housing from a 2.4 2wd (if they are removable) but i would like to be sure before making an offer on it. are there any other things im overlooking with this like the mounting, yokes, or wiring. should I forget about it and just rebuild my KM-145

The bellhousing is removable. See below pic of V5MT1 trans.

so i guess in 1990 with the new engines everything went to a hydraulic actuated clutch then even the 2.4 right? i wonder if its possible to use a hydraulic clutch pedal in an 87 or if the firewalls were changed to accommodate it? mine has a tube that the clutch cable goes through
