Mighty max Eclipse Hyundai. Will it work?

Going to put this 2g head on a mighty max bottom end. And that’s a Hyundai intake. Welded the injectors wholes up and machined back true. Hopefully it’ll work.

Excellent stuff. What Hyundai did you get the intake from? I thought it was the 2.4 Kia Optima intake that faced the right way for a RWD 2G conversion...

I have no idea what Hyundai it came off. I was at pull apart and seen it was a 4g63 engine and seen the intake was rolled to the bottom and backwards from other 4g63 intake and was like that will work. Lol. I just go by pull a part and look every once in a while and see what I can find and learn.

"Field trip" - I always do a little research at the U-pull-it yards trying to find a cross compatible part. Great way to learn your nuts and bolts. I have a theory a turbo manifold from an Evo will bolt up to my J2 engine in my Lantra wagon (minus one exhaust stud) but I won't find out as Evo's are really uncommon in yards here and when they do, they are hella expensive to raid for parts (probably a good thing - I'll do something stupid and end up in orbit lol)

Heck yeah. It’s the best way to find out stuff that people have never tried or thought about. But I’ve got so much going on that I don’t know when I’ll get to try it out. Got a 4d55 in a two wheel drive 1990 d50 and going to get a conquest engine this weekend. I’ll tell you a way to find out if the Evo manifold will work. Buy an Evo gasket and a gasket for your j2 and match them up. That’s how I found out this head and intake would bolt up. What litter is your j2?

It's a 2.0 - I think I'd better concentrate on my truck before I do anything (else) stupid

So far so good. Kia copied a lot of Mitsubishi engineering.

if you're ok with cross-breeding, just grab a toyota RZ 4cyl
    Bypass all that mix-n-match crap. 3RZ (2.7L) dyno'd well over 500hp / 500 ft-lbs unopened
    easily fits a corolla, so.....

This I’s just for fun and there all 4g6x engines. So technically not cross-breeding.

Hyundai / Kia and Mitsu designed the 4g6X and other motors together as their world motor series. Just packaging differences and different names - if it looks the same it most likely will fit...
