you have a bad ground to the block and it is using the throttle cable as its path to ground. Clean up all the grounding points - cable to battery tray, tray to frame, and frame to block. Also run a ground from the last exhaust manifold stud to the heat shield bolt on the fire wall - leave some slack for engine flex. I have also heard of tranny gears melting for the same reason
