Camshaft position sensor, is this the unicorn of auto parts?
Ok so my 1992 M.M. is reading Code 23 which I have come to find out is for the camshaft position sensor. Why can I not find this part for my truck. I've searched high and low with no clue to where it can be found. Anyone have a spare or a lead to where I could buy one? Or is it as rare as a bottled up unicorn fart

It's a 4G64 (really need to edit your user profile!) So that means it's in the distributor. A fault with the ICM?

Profile edited sorry everyone. So would replacing the distributor fix the issue? I just stumbled across the code while doing a check after replacing the throttle cable, to, and coolant temp sensor, the check engine light wasn't even on.

I tested the icm with a multimeter and it was within specs

Also checked the coil and was also within specs.

If it's running ok, try clearing the codes? Maybe the distributor was adjusted when it wasn't in tune/diagnostic mode and it caused the ECM to spaz.

Its running fine since I've replaced some things but I think Ive come to the conclusion I am going to change plugs, wire's, cap and rotor just because it's drinking fuel like neve
