    Transmission models.

I'm looking to swap transmissions mine is a km145 it has some issues. I found an 89 mm it has a different eng trans combo. Main question is will they interchange w/o much hassle. See pic for donor vehicle info.

Damn - that is the good tranny and has 4.22 gears, and probably a locker. That tranny is a great changeout for the km145 - grab the whole truck if you can...

Do what??? Did I stumble on something? Is there any way to verify what it came with? I'd buy the whole truck if it has a locker and lower gears. Is that a lower gear in the transfer case or axles.

the v5m21 is the better tranny, and the 4222 is the lower gearset. usually the 4.22 gears come with LSD in the trucks.

Interesting. I went looking for a trans and possibly torsion bars. I may leave with whole truck. Is it a simple swap for the transmission? Driveline the same length? Mounts the same?

And that transmission will bolt up to my g54b? Wasn't ready to get into a whole drivetrain swap yet but I would definitely take the axles for a swap later on. Lower gears would make this thing even more of a tank.

if it is on a 2.4 yes, if on a 3.0 v6, not without a bellhousing swap.

Well it looks like i will be in the market for a new transmission. I decided it was running so good I'd try the interstate. It did fantastic until it suddenly wasn't. 5th gear cruising 70 mph it started growling like mad growling. Slowed down to 55 still growling like crazy. Stopped let it cool off a bit. Still growls like crazy in gear and out of gear stops when I push the clutch in. Hoping it's a throw out bearing....
