    TPS issue??

Okay so last week tlmy 92 mighty max started running a little weird. Off and on while driving I would engage the clutch and the engine (2.4L) would stay at a high RPM or occasionally rise in RPMs then gradually drop after 10 or 20 seconds. Then one morning started and ran fine to the store went to start it after maybe 5 minutes in the store and wouldn't fire, just kept cranking but had a strong fuel smell. Let it sit for about an hour and it fired right up like nothing. Went web searching and most signs pointed to the TPS so I went and got one from the zone and installed it and adjusted it with a volt meter hooked to the ECU and set it at around .53. Seems to have fixed the issue but now my check engine light won't go off, and still get a strong fuel smell once in awhile.. Any thoughts??

Hi and welcome to mightyram. I'd get a scanner onto the ECU and do a check for error codes. It could be a bad O2 sensor. Go looking for fuel leaks as well. Last thing you need is it blowing a high pressure fuel line and starting a BBQ. The check light can be cleared (they're also set to go off a certain mileage intervals - there's a small reset button under the dash)
