I hate to ask stupid questions but here it goes. My truck didn't come with a jack to change a flat. Seems like a good thing to have just in case? I have 15" wheels and it's a 4x4. Will a standard scissor jack work?

You are going to have to find someone that can tell you how high the lift point is of your truck. I would assume being a 4x4 you are going to need something taller Quoted from amazon : "The jack has a lift range from 4-1/8" to 15-1/8""
So if you measure your jack point, you are going to need to have enough to jack it a few inches to get the tire off the ground above whatever you measure.
Use a bottle jack - that is what came with the truck originally. also carry a piece of plywood or metal plate about a foot square to help spread the weight out on soft ground.

I personally like bottle jacks better anyway. But I didn't know if a bottle jack would get a 4x4 off the ground.
Compressed the stock bottle jack is 7" tall; fully extended it's 15". It's sufficient but like pennyman1 wrote, something to increase the jacks footprint is very good to have. Changing a rear tire is a PIA because the recommended lift point is the axle tube next to the lower shock mount. Not fun if you're in a muddy road or shoulder. I modified a scissors jack so the contact point cradles the frame side rail. It still needs a block of 4x6 for stability, but at least I don't have to get under the truck or lie in mud to position the jack.
Where would this be located? Im guessing behind the bench seat?
Just want to make sure it isn't under the spare tire before I go out and buy a jack and lug wrench.
Yes. Look under the seat on the driver's side. That's where it is in mine, but I have bucket seats. I suspect the jack handle/lug wrench is stowed there too.
all jacks would be under the drivers seat, the handle and lug wrench is under the passengers seat.
